The Heads-Up Display, or HUD, provides market data and information about the underlying ticker symbol as well as the time interval for the chart. The HUD will also display information for any Chart Tools (Studies, Draw Tools, or Conditions) you have loaded on the chart.
On the main price panel, the HUD will display the security's name and ticker symbol, the exchange name or data source (Data Tag), the time interval, and the market price data. You can edit these HUD Labels from the ellipses menu (see below).
The HUD menu includes:
Linking Tool
Link charts together when using multi-chart layouts. You can link Symbols, Intervals and/or Controls.
* Mostly used in multi-chart views or Analog chart views to aid in navigation and analysis operations.
Hide/Show Data
Click the icon to hide/show data sets
* Mostly used in Analog chart views, to reduce noise in analysis
Ellipses Menu
The HUD Ellipses menu provides additional options to edit the configurations for the HUD and the chart.

Collapse HUD: Hide the Market Data section of the HUD by selecting "Collapse HUD". You can also hide the Market Data section of the HUD by simply clicking on the name and ticker symbol. When HUD is collapsed, this will change to "Expand HUD".

Chart Type: Change the Chart Type to either Bar (OHLC), Candlestick, Line, or Mountain. ** Note that many studies use the OHLC data from Bar and Candlestick charts in the calculations. Line or Mountain charts may have different outcomes of studies as a result.

Panel Placement: If you have any Studies on your chart that appear on an additional panels (e.g. RSI or MACD), you can adjust the location of each panel by selecting "Panel Placement" and moving the panel up or down.

HUD Labels: You can customize the HUD Display by editing or removing the Name, Exchange or Interval tags.

Data Decimals: You can override the system to display a set number of decimals on price axis. The default will be symbol dependent.

- Edit Settings: Takes you to the Chart Settings modal where you edit the configurations for the current instance of chart. Keep in mind that default chart settings for new charts, tabs or workspaces should be addressed from the upper right Profile Icon settings menu. HUD for Chart Tools
The HUD will also display information for any Chart Tools (Studies, Draw Tools, and Conditions) you have loaded on your chart. It will display the name, the Preset, and data for all the outputs associated with the Chart Tool.
If you hover your cursor over the Chart Tool name, you will see the following icons:
allows you to show or hide the outputs for the respective Chart Tool.
lets you edit the settings for the Chart Tool.
lets you remove this study from the chart.
provides additional options to show/hide the output data in the HUD or remove the tool from the chart.
If the Chart Tool is displayed on the same panel as the main price chart, there will be a "Layering" option within the Ellipsis Menu . In this setting, you can choose to bring the Chart Tool to the foreground or background relative to the price chart or a separate Chart Tool instance. A Chart Tool that is displayed in a separate panel will have a "Panel Placement" setting instead allowing you customize the panel's location.
HUD Chart Settings
Data Series
These settings affect how the primary chart data is rendered.
- Base Series Color: Defines the default color of the data series (e.g., line chart or candlesticks).
- Opacity (%): Controls the transparency of the base series color. 100% is fully opaque, 0% is fully transparent.
- Chart Type: Choose between chart types such as Candlestick, Bar, Line or Mountain.
Adjust the appearance of bars or candles based on whether they closed higher or lower than they opened. Click the chart type to access and customize settings specific to your preferred chart style.
- Up Close Overlay: Color: Sets the overlay color for up (bullish) closes. (with Opacity % control)
- Down Close Overlay: Color: Sets the overlay color for down (bearish) closes. (with Opacity % control)
Chart Display
Adjust the overall appearance of text and background on your chart.
- Text Color: Sets the color of non-price data related text displays. These include: axis labels and HUD text.
- Text Weight: Controls how bold or light the chart text appears.
- Chart Background Color: Sets the background color of the charting area. Opacity % for background color.
Gridlines
Control the visual appearance of vertical and horizonal gridlines. You can customize:
- Line Color
- Line Style (solid, dashed, dotted)
- Line Thickness
Heads Up Display
- Control the HUD OHLC value to display the current bar (default) or to show data from the cursor.
- Background opacity will box a background color around the HUD for clearer display of data options.
- Customize HUD Labels, you can remove the name or interval badge and choose the exchange dot or badge.
Zoom Layout
These settings influence chart spacing, margins, and scaling.
- Zoom Scale: Adjusts the default zoom scale for the chart. Higher values show fewer bars; lower values show more.
- Top Margin / Bottom Margin / Right Margin: Adds spacing between the chart content and the edges of the panel.
- Vertical Auto-Scale: Force scale the time axis to data, 1st indicator or all indicators.
