You can use the Chart Search feature and it’s autocomplete functionality to change the ticker symbol, timeframe interval on your chart as well as Add Chart Tools, create custom Expressions.
When the Chart Search is not activated, the box will display the chart’s ticker symbol, last price, net price change, and percentage price change.
How to Change the Ticker Symbols
Begin typing the name or ticker symbol in the Chart Search box and choose the ticker and the corresponding exchange it trades on from the autocomplete dropdown. Based on the keywords you type in, the autocomplete dropdown will display the ticker symbol, ticker name, asset class, and the exchange name (Data Tag).
Data Tags highlighted in green indicate Real-Time Data from the exchange or network; orange Data Tags indicate a fixed delay from the exchange or network; and red Data Tags signify End-of-Day updates after the market closes. Hovering over the Data Tag provides further detail.
Symbol Search
To locate a specific security, begin by typing its name or symbol into the search bar. If you're unsure of the exact symbol, you can refine the search results using the category filters located at the top of the symbol search results field.
This feature is especially helpful when you're looking for a particular security but do not know its symbol. For example, if you're interested in viewing crude oil futures but don’t know the exact symbol, you can enter OIL
into the search field. Then, use the filter to narrow the results to the Futures category to display only relevant contracts.
How to Change the Time Interval
In the Chart Search box, simply type in the time interval and choose from the autocomplete dropdown. Additionally, you can type in a comma followed by the interval period and hit "Enter" on your keyboard.
The Symbolik platform also supports expanded intervals. Expanded historical intervals can be accessed by typing a number followed by that period’s abbreviation (D, W, M, Q, A).
You can add these interval options at the end of a security symbol, separating it by the comma, to change the Symbol and the Interval at the same time. For Example: SPY,30
will change the symbol to SPY and a 30 minute chart.
Here are some examples:
- 30-minute chart:
,30
- Daily chart:
,D
- Weekly chart:
,W
- Monthly chart:
,M
- 3 Day chart:
,3D
- 2 Week chart:
,2W
