When working with multiple tabs in the same workspace, you can link tabs together so that changing the symbol in one tab automatically updates all linked tabs. This makes it easy to analyze the same instrument using different chart layouts, timeframes, or study configurations without manually changing the symbol on each tab.

For example, you might dedicate one tab to long-term analysis, another to shorter-term trading, and a third to sector or market context. You can also organize studies by type, such as DeMARK® indicators on one tab, moving averages and momentum studies on another, or volume-based analysis on a third. This approach can make complex chart setups easier to manage and may help improve responsiveness when a single chart contains a large number of studies.

Note: Linking tabs synchronizes symbols between tabs. If a tab contains multiple charts, you'll also need to configure Chart Linking so every chart within that tab updates together. Linking Charts in Multi-Chart Layouts

Linking Tabs

To link two or more tabs:

1. Open a workspace containing multiple tabs.
2. Click the Link Tabs button in the workspace toolbar.
3. Select the tabs you want to include in the link group.
4. Confirm your selection.

Once linked, changing the symbol in any linked tab automatically updates every other tab in the same link group.

Pro Tip: If a linked tab contains multiple charts, those charts are not automatically synchronized with one another. To ensure every chart within the tab updates to the selected symbol, configure chart linking first. See Linking Charts in Multi-Chart Layouts for step-by-step instructions.

How Linked Tabs Work

When tabs are linked:

• Changing the symbol in any linked tab updates all other tabs in the same link group.
• Each tab retains its own chart layout, studies, drawings, and timeframe.
• Only the selected symbol is synchronized across linked tabs.
• Tabs assigned to different link groups operate independently.
• You can create multiple link groups, each identified by a different color, allowing you to synchronize different sets of tabs within the same workspace.

For example, you might use a blue link group for equity analysis and a green link group for market indexes. Changing the symbol in a blue-linked tab updates only the other blue-linked tabs, while the green-linked tabs remain unchanged.

Removing a Tab from a Link Group

You can unlink a tab at any time without affecting the rest of your workspace.

To remove a tab from a link group:

• Click the Link Tabs button.
• Clear the link for the tab you want to remove.
• Save or apply the changes.

The tab will immediately begin operating independently while the remaining linked tabs continue to synchronize.

Tips

• Link tabs when analyzing the same symbol from multiple perspectives.
• Use different chart layouts or timeframes in each linked tab for faster analysis.
• Keep unrelated symbols in unlinked tabs to avoid unwanted symbol changes.
