The Studies menu can be accessed by clicking on the book icon in the top left of your screen. This menu will include 100+ universal technical studies available to all Symbolik users as well as any proprietary 3rd Party Subscriptions.

Studies Menu
Studies appear in alphabetical order in the Studies Menu. You can click the drop down menu to limit the results to simplify your search.
Search Box
You can find a study quickly by typing the study name in the Search Box.
Add and Remove Studies
To add a new Study instance to your chart, go to Studies in your Chart Tools and click on the Study you want to appear on the chart. If you have more than one chart, first click on the chart in which you want the study to be added. Select the study from your Chart Tools. The study will appear on your chart in the HUD (Heads Up Display).
To remove a study from the chart, hover over the study name in the HUD and click the ellipses menu and choose Remove.
Favorites
For quick access to your most often used studies, you can use the Favorites feature. Hover over the study name in the menu and click the star. The star will turn gold and this is now a favorite.
Access your Favorite Studies from the drop down in the Study Menu or the Star Icon in the Chart Tools Menu.
Instances
Each application of a Study is an “instance” you can have numerous instances with different presets applied. When a Study is added multiple times to a chart, the instance number will be included in parenthesis next to the Study name as shown below.

Study Customization
Symbolik allows users to customize the studies to their individual preferences. This includes actual calculation settings as well as display settings. These changes can be made in two different places with two different effects. You can customize your settings from the HUD to make changes specifically to the instance currently displayed on the chart. These customizations will be deleted when the study is removed from the chart. If you make custom settings changes from the Studies Menu, these changes will become the default settings and apply to each instance applied to your charts going forward.
You can also save multiple versions of custom settings or Presets. More information about Presets can be found HERE.
From the HUD (Heads Up Display)
Custom settings changes made from the HUD will apply ONLY to the current instance on the chart. These changes will not affect any preset or default settings. These settings will be deleted when the study is removed from the chart.
Please note that when you make changes to the settings from the HUD, a chart tool preview will allow you to review these adjustments before applying them to the chart instance. For a demonstration, please refer to the video below.
You can click the drop down menu to Save or Save As & Apply to save your changes made in the HUD Settings Modal as a Preset.
From the Study Menu
Settings changes made from the Studies Menu will affect preset or default settings. These changes will not affect any current instances displayed on the chart.
You can click the drop down menu to Save or Save As & Apply to save your changes made as a Preset.
Study Presets
Creating Presets
From the Studies Menu, click the ellipses menu and choose "Create New Preset" from the options. This will open the Preset Settings modal. Create a unique name for your preset, make your custom settings and display changes and click "Save".
Applying Presets
Click the ellipses menu and choose the Preset you wish to display.
Editing Presets / Default Presets
From the ellipses menu, click Edit (study name).
From the Edit modal, you can:
- Choose an existing preset to edit
- Create a new Preset by clicking the '+'
- Click the ellipses menu on the Preset to Edit, Duplicate or Set as Default.
Restore Factory Defaults
After you select a Preset to edit, you can click the ellipses menu in the upper right corner, highlight over Prefill and select 'Restore Factory Setting'
